| Gouverneur Warfield wird heute 59 Jahre alt und wünscht er sich als sein schönstes Geburtstagsgeschenk die Erwählung Mahool's und des ganzen demokratischen Tickets. Der Gouverneur wird heute Abend in der Gouverneurswohnung in Annapolis den Beamten und Direktoren der „Fidelity & Deposit Co.“ und der „Fidelity Trust Co.“, von welchen Gesellschaften er Präsident ist, ein Diner geben. Hr. Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain) wird Donnerstag mit Frl. Lyon, einer intimen Freundin seiner Tochter, aus New-York zum Besuch bei'm Gouverneur eintreffen, um am Freitag zum Besten der Presbyterianer-Kirche in Annapolis einen Vortrag zu halten. Am Samstag ist zu Ehre des Hrn. Clemens eine Wasserfahrt arrangirt und wird er Abends mit dem Gouverneur dem Conzert des Wiener Männergesangvereins in der „Lyric“ beiwohnen. | Governor Warfield turns 59 today and his fondest birthday wish is the election of Mahool and the entire Democratic ticket. The Governor will give a dinner this evening at his residence in Annapolis for the officers and directors of the Fidelity & Deposit Co. and the Fidelity Trust Co. of both of which companies he is president. Mr. Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain) will arrive from New York on Thursday with Miss Lyon, an intimate friend of his daughter, to visit the Governor, and to deliver a lecture on Friday for the benefit of the Presbyterian Church in Annapolis. On Saturday a water cruise has been arranged in honor of Mr. Clemens and in the evening he and the Governor will attend the concert of the Vienna Men's Choir in the “Lyric”. |
