Julien F. Scott, einer der angesehensten Bürger von Scott County, Tenn., ertrank am letzten Samstage, während er den Emoryfluß zu kreuzen versuchte. Er war das Original des bekannten Mark Twain'schen Charakters „Colonel Sellers“ und ein Schulkamerad, sowie ein intimer persönlicher Freund jenes Schriftstellers.Julien F. Scott, one of the most respected citizens of Scott county, Tenn. was drowned last Saturday while attempting to cross the Emory river. He was the real life model of Mark Twain's well-known character, “Colonel Sellers,” and a childhood companion, as well as an intimate personal friend of the writer.
