Live at Mona's: Traditional Irish Music on New York's Lower East Side

Live at Mona's

Live at Mona's is America's first live Irish music session album. It started with a series of field recordings at Eamon O'Leary and Patrick Ourceau's weekly session at Mona's pub on New York's Lower East Side. Session took place late at night on Mondays for years, and these recordings were conducted between March and December, 2003. Selections were published as the cd Live at Mona's, and featured session leaders Eamon and Patrick holding forth with dozens of local and international musicians, playing hundreds of tunes. This site documents those recordings, the Mona's session during 2003, and stands as an open resource for players and enthusiasts of Irish traditional music.
