MEDIA AND THE ARCHIVE: Motions and Transformations

The Remixed Archive

In this unit, we explore the ways in which archives change, evolve, and get transformed by the affordances of technology in enabling (prod)users to reuse and recombine existing elements in order to create something new. What happens when we reinvent and reimagine a work to create something radically different? Does remix have powerful and subversive potentials? What does remixing the archive achieve?
