Remarks: Making Men of the White Boys

By stating that sending the white boys to the Native Americans for education would "make men of them" implies that the Native Americans believe the way whites educate their children makes them soft and useless. Native Americans believe real men can provide for their family and community by being a warrior, hunter, builder, and survivor.
