Paper
Parts of a watermark are visible near the gutter on folios 7, 10, and 20. It is most visible on f. 7, with about the top third showing above the gutter. The parts of the mark that I can see resemble the watermark POT.301.1. Only the crown is visible on ff. 10 and 20.
Notes on the watermark from the Gravell database:
"Approximately two-thirds of the papers are connected or related to some member of the Bacon family, and the balance are of the Townshend family. The Bacon papers are those of Sir Nathaniel (1547-1622), second son and heir of the Lord Keeper."
