Examples: Fabio Barone owned a grocery store at 197 Columbus Ave. Ralph Di Mare owned a meat market and joined produce store at 32 Pacific. His store was an important locus for the community. The Donato Store on 10 Harbor Ave, was run by Michael Donato's wife while he and his son worked at the railroad. George Paglia owned a Fruits and Confections Store at 175 Bridge St.
