John Travolta
John Travolta was the youngest of six children. He was born and raised in Englewood, New Jersey. His father was a second-generation Italian American (with roots in Godrano, Sicily) and his mother was Irish American. He grew up in an Irish-American neighborhood He was raised Catholic, but converted to Scientology in 1975. Like Pacino, Travolta also dropped out of high school at the age of 17 in 1971.
After dropping out of school, Travolta a role in the touring company of the musical Grease. Afterwards he moved to Los Angeles to further his career in show business. In 1977 and 1978, he starred in two of his most famous roles. Saturday Night Fever and Grease. These films helped launch Travolta into stardom.
