My name is Yohta Shimizu, I usually go by Yohta(almost the same pronunciation with that green guy from Star Wars). After working in the field of publishing and e-commerce for 5 years in Japan, currently pursuing MA in information science. My long-term career goal is to help people enjoy a better life, by having a broad range of choices based on accessible information.
Currently, my research interest focus on information architecture and accessibility and now I'm working as a graduate hourly position at DRES(Disability Resources and Educational Services) along with practicum at the University of Illinois Press.
n my free time I enjoy playing around with my fox-like dog(above) or watch my favorite baseball team's game.
One core research methodology I practice is Field Work.
My undergraduate was Tourism and I still clearly remember those Summer days that I put myself in a completely unfamiliar environment, very slowly building relationship with local people 10 years ago. Back in those days, the book by Riall Nolan was the bible for me.
