INTL 190 - Haiti in a Transnational Context

Conclusion

From this article we can see that economic status and political stability become the measurement tools to see how well a country handles certain matters. In this case, it shows how a country handles a natural disaster. From one side we can see how Haiti still struggles to recover from a decade old natural disaster. The people of Haiti are not the one to blame, but the corrupt governmental system is the entity that drags Haiti even deeper in the sinkhole of poverty. To resolve this matter, the involvement of international entities, and especially powerful countries are needed. Although Haiti received billions of dollars previously, without strict surveillance by other countries, they will repeat the same mistakes, and corruption will happen all over again.
