The good receiving officer unlocks the door and enters the loading dock. The courier gives him the goods and two copies of a delivery docket. The goods receiving officer locates the purchase order number on the delivery docket and points it out to the trainee. The trainee locates the relevant purchase order number, checks that the purchase order number matches the delivery docket, and then extracts the goods receiving form from the temporary file. The goods receiving officer checks that the number of boxes listed on the delivery docket matches the number of boxes received.
