Supporting Material – List of Controls Embedded/Missing

After viewing the Receiving Goods process footage students should be able to identify the following controls as being present (in the good version of the process), or absent (in the bad version of the process).


Good version – present controls
Bad version – missing controls

  1. Goods receiving area is secure

  2. Courier required to present purchase order reference on arrival

  3. Purchase order is checked for validity

  4. Goods are checked and counted carefully – use of scanners and visuals

  5. Goods delivery is recorded on blind purchase order

  6. Delivery docket is signed and problems noted

  7. Delivered goods are secured immediately

  8. Goods delivery data is input – variation checks used



  1. Goods receiving area not secured

  2. Purchase order validity is not checked

  3. Goods are not checked/scanned thoroughly

  4. Goods delivery recorded by check marks on purchase order copy

  5. Delivery docket is signed

  6. Delivered goods are not secured

  7. Goods delivery data entered from  purchase order – variation checks overridden
