12016-07-21T02:27:19-07:00In Camera: Part 2 of 93An important aspect of this project is to translate the experience of navigating the personal video archive into a linear filmic experience accessible to an audience. I utilize the multi-channel grid view as an attempt at evoking the simultaneity I experience in having memory triggered by glancing encounters with media references. At the same time, this form of multi-channel grid pushes at the boundaries of cognition and our ability to track multiple temporalities in real time. It also embraces the unique affordances of the IMAX space and the architectural scale of the IMAX screen; when viewing this grid in the Giant Screen environment, simultaneity of vision can only be peripheral, the audience cannot realistically hold each piece of video in focus at once, they must make a choice about where to look, what to watch, what to see and learn and ultimately to remember.plain2016-07-25T01:36:15-07:00
