Ethnographic museum

A museum that specializes in the systematic displays of people and cultures. Grown out of a classical western tradition of museums, these displays have historically emphasized (even fetishized or exoticized) the cultures of non-Western people, or ethnic groups living in the West. These museums tend to be organized and divided geographically.
