They have toiled and sweated for men who have shown them little to no appreciation. Black women have always been expected to give and not to be given. She has always been an invisible part of society. In the late 1800s, when black suffrage was been fought for, black was used in referred to just black men. Black women had to make their suffrage second to black men's suffrage. They had to fight for the men's suffrage before they fought for theirs. In doing so, black men were made dominant over black women. This trend has been in existence post-slavery. Their bodies are sexualized yet they have not expected to sexualize themselves. Black men who sexualize black women are accepted as normal yet black women who sexualize themselves are hated by both black men and women. Their natural features are appreciated only when they are of women of other races.
Black men have been made to dominate black women not only politically but also socially.

They were ostracized and their issues were made the least priority. Yet again, people took what they wanted from black women but never gave back to them.
