You are Karlos, a 35 year old straight Latino. Karlos is originally from a large city, where he was raised by two immigrant parents. His parents were hard working people who had low paying jobs until his father got an education and started working in information technologies. Karlos decided to follow suit and became a very successful software engineer. Before the apocalypse, Karlos was an activist in his free time for the Latino immigrant community. He wanted Latino's to have more equality in all aspects of life. Despite his social work, Karlos was a misogynist. Although he wouldn't state it outright, he strongly discouraged woman getting the same jobs and opportunities as men. He even discouraged his wife from going back to school because he argued that he was a provider in the family and she should be taking care of the kids, like his mother took care of him when his dad was the breadwinner. Karlos was also very biased and did not believe in working with other oppressed groups during his social work. He wanted to put the Latino community first because he believed during his time Latinos had it worst off out of any group of people. You have lost your family in the water wars.

You are in the housing unit that they have placed everyone in. You have a roommate and he is also Latino. You two are discussing politics and you move the conversation on to the cafeteria because it is breakfast time. You sit down at a table full of people and you keep discussing politics, you happen to be talking about how you do not agree with women's rights. Your friend agrees as well, a woman across from you tells you that you are an idiot. Before you have time to respond the speakers go off and your name is called. You are to get the Empathy Chip implanted today. You have not thought about this at all, but you know if you don't get it implanted they will banish you from the city, and you came here cause they have water.
