Marcel Cartier ft. Big Frizzle and Logic-Never Be A Slave

This video is another production of Globalfaction. It is a collaboration between Marcel Cartier, whose bio can be found here: Marcel Cartier and Big Frizzle and Logic who are both UK based emcees.

Each artist has a narrative which connects their personal experience to the (dis)placement experience via the coloniality of power. Cartier who comes from what would be perceived as one of the most privileged positions within this structure, (read white, male, US citizen), provides an example of the power in letting people speak in their own voices and how hip hop allows cultural creators to assert identity politics outside of the impositions of the coloniality of power and knowledge. Cartier's work challenges while conveying his understanding of social responsibility.
