Attack

The camera veers about for a bit, finally settling down and zooming in on a set of black figures.  As the figures approach they resolve into a series of Gevrons, wearing black military-looking uniforms and wearing strange black helmets each of which has a forward-pointing long spike.  They march in unison; behind them walks a black quadrupedal creature holding a staff in two clawed hands.  The tauroid moves sinuously, giving the impression of a snake with limbs bolted on.

The aliens finally stop.  The camera zooms out; thirty meters away, facing the creatures, are the members of the diplomacy team.  Abruptly, one of the Gevrons tilts its head, and suddenly a beam of light shoots out of the spike on its helmet, scoring the ground where it lands.

"That was a warning shot," Gowan begins into his radio, but before he can give further orders all the aliens begin firing in earnest (the staff firing the same beams as the helmets) and the area is engulfed in chaos.  The team scatters to get behind whatever cover they can find.  Thomas scrambles towards his dropship.  Sacha desperately yells out for everyone to hold their fire, to no avail.  A stray beam flashes towards the camera, which momentarily ducks behind a rock, obscuring the view.  Daniel calls into the radio to try to take a hostage.  Blu leaps seemingly out of nowhere onto one of the Gevrons' backs, pistol pointed at its neck.  Sacha twists her ankle and cries in pain, startling Blu into pulling the trigger.  The black creature screeches in rage or pain.  The Gevrons scatter, fleeing in every direction in their panic.

Finally, the engines of Thomas's ship roar to life, and with a burst of radio static, the Gevrons and the other creature flee, leaving the wounded Gevron behind.  Josh and several nurses rush to the alien's side, but by the time they get the wound dressed the Gevron is unconscious, possibly dead.  The nurses bear it into the ship on a hover-gurney.  The camera focuses on Josh's face, which is a somber contrast to his usual enthusiasm, before shutting off.
