Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Visit the Digital Scholarship Common's VizLab prior to today's class and experience the following two projects. Please note that you must schedule an appointment in order use the VizLab.
A ten-minute presentation of your Interactive Non-Fiction Storytelling work-in-progress; note that this presentation can certainly include material you showed last week, but it also needs to be considerably expanded and further worked on. *Please plan on showing your presentation while at the library using your laptop.
Alicia and Aria: by end-of-day today (midnight), please make sure to include in the schedule the Read/Watch/Play/Explore materials you will like us to review for next week's class. Note that you are not expected or required to lead the discussion together; you each will present your own materials and topics for approximately 45-60 minutes. However, you do need to coordinate in order to ensure that the quantity of materials you are assigning is balanced and appropriate.
