While the street view depicts la Goutte d'Or ten years and more beyond the setting of the novel, it is useful to witness Lamar's depictions.
On Google Earth, la Goutte d'Or is not In Google Earth, users can search the streets of la Goutte d'Or to find images that support Lamar's depiction of this area. Because what Lamar describes about the city is fittingly on the streets, Google Street View is one modality that is in sync with the perspective the narrator gives the reader of the city. For instance, the example, which is the first and major description of la Goutte d'Or, is of the teenagers standing in the walkaway in front of a building that looks like a prison. [GET THE IMAGE]
