  During a playthrough of “Brainstrips”, the reader has the opportunity to self-reflect and apply what they have learned to their everyday life. At the end of each section, Bigelow creates either a pop quizor a survey that relates to the themes discussed in the module. In “Deep Philosophical Questions”, the author creates an advertisement for developing the reader’s own philosophy and motto to live by. It is considered free because the only resource the person needs to use is their critical thinking. In “Science for Idiots”, Bigelow implements a survey asking if the information presented in the module was useful and helpful. Finally, at the very end of “Higher Math”, the author incorporates a test that does not relate to the material in the module but instead asks the reader to apply math to everyday scenarios. With the use of these different formats, the reader can become more immersed and take away key themes and information on the piece.
