Timeline of events

Palestinians take to the streets to protest following the prayer at Al Aqsa mosque. Palestinians gather on its steps following Friday prayer to take an oath to defend the mosque. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers celebrate in front of the Palestinian homes of the families threatened of ethnic cleansing. IDF brutally attacks and beat members of the Palestinian youth at Damascus gate, Jerusalem. 



Palestinians gather for a protest at the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. IDF brutally assaults protestors, detaining two. Many begin to protest across Palestine. In one instance, occupation forces harass Palestinians during a vigil held in solidarity with families of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. Christian Palestinians gather at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem to celebrate a day before Easter Sunday where they are attacked by IDF.  


Israeli court meets to decide whether to displace 28 Palestinian families or not. Ruling decides that settlers will inherit the homes of the Palestinian owners following their death. Palestinians dismissed this deal, refusing any other deals of the same kind. Court adjourned until May 6. Israeli settlers break into Al Aqsa mosque compound. Occupation forces attack Palestinians in Beita, near Nablus. One boy was reportedly shot by occupation forces. Palestinian youths hold vigil in solidarity with the families of Sheikh Jarrah. Occupation forces attack Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah using sound grenades and then detain some Palestinians. 


Occupation forces storm the village of Aqraba, near Nablus, assaulting a number of Palestinians and arresting them. At least eight were reportedly detained. Palestinians hold vigil in solidarity with families of Sheikh Jarrah. Occupation forces attack and assault them. Occupation forces attack the families of Sheikh Jarrah, detaining a few young men. One of the young men was identified as Ahmad Farrah.




Ahmed Farrah is released after being beaten by occupation forces. Palestinians gather for iftar in the courtyard of the Al Aqsa mosque. Occupation forces prevent Palestinians from reaching Sheikh Jarrah to take part in a solidarity vigil. Muna and Mohammad al Kurd are assaulted during the solidarity vigil. Mohammad is then detained. Soldiers attack and harass a number of protestors, including one young man, Omar, who had his neck pressed down by a soldier. “I can’t breathe, you are suffocating me,” he yells out.




The entrances and exits of Aqraba are sealed, as occupation forces storm it in search of Palestinian fighters who shot and injured three Israeli soldiers a few days prior. Settlers set fire to lands owned by Palestinians in Burin, an occupied village in the West Bank. Occupation forces detain Sanaa Shalabi, after a raid of her home in the north of Ramallah. Her son was detained the day before.


Palestinians break their fast in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. Occupation forces attack a farm and two homes in Aqraba.
Palestinians continue to gather in solidarity with the families of Sheikh Jarrah. Occupation forces assault Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah. One attack was carried out inside the house of the Al Kurd family using sound grenades. Another showed forces spraying skunk water at Palestinians and homes in the neighborhood. Palestinian paramedics sustain injuries by sound grenades in an attempt to treat the injured in Sheikh Jarrah. A volunteer paramedic is detained. Occupation forces shoot and kill a 16-year-old boy, Saeed Odeh, in Olda, near Nablus.




Israeli supreme court postponed the verdict from May 6 to May 10. Settlers spray pepper gas at Palestinian youths in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. Violent attacks break out before iftar in the neighborhood. Occupation forces attack and assault peaceful protestors in Sheikh Jarrah. Some are reportedly detained. Medical crews evacuate a few protestors injured in the confrontations. Palestinians burn a settler’s car in Sheikh Jarrah. Settler begins to shoot at Palestinians.





Occupation forces attack protestors at the entrance of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. They then closed all entrances of the neighborhood and banned entry of all activists, while allowing settlers to gather. A few settlers gather nearby. Occupation forces attack Palestinians in Jerusalem using sound grenades. They then attack worshippers at one of the gates of Al Aqsa mosque, further proceeding into the courtyards and even reaching the Masjid al Qibli (the lead dome). Forces fire sound grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets. Protestors gather at the entrance of Sheikh Jarrah. Occupation forces gather at Damascus gate. The Palestinian Red Crescent reports 163 injuries in Al Aqsa mosque, Sheikh Jarrah and Damascus Gate.


Occupation forces attack worshippers in Al Aqsa mosque during Fajr prayer. Israeli court postpones hearing on Sheikh Jarrah eviction to the following month. Settlers march on Jaffa gate, Jerusalem, as part of the preparations to mark the anniversary of occupying the east part of Jerusalem. Palestinian Christian zaffa (pre-wedding party) is done to counter it, using Palestinian national songs. Occupation forces throw stun grenades at Palestinian youths engaged in settler attacks in the French Hill, Jerusalem. Palestinians break their fast and perform the sunset prayer in Sheikh Jarrah. Protestors father in Haifa to express solidarity. Occupation forces attack Palestinians, detaining 18. Protestors gather in Ramallah and Nazareth to express solidarity. Occupation forces assault protestors in Sheikh Jarrah, while firing sound grenades and rubber bullets. Dozens of protestors gather in the courtyards of Al Aqsa mosque. Israeli occupation forces storm Al Aqsa mosque, shooting stun grenades, tear gas, and rubber bullets. Worshippers are attacked by occupation forces. Dozens are injured, and medics are banned from entry, forcing Palestinians to evacuate their fellow protestors from the courtyards. A number of Palestinians are detained.  Settlers gather at the gates of the mosque, preparing to break in. Some try to break down one of the doors.  The Red Crescent states that nearly 80 have been hospitalized, with around 270 injuries in total. Occupation forces assault Palestinians at Damascus gate. Palestinian resistance factions launch rockets into Israeli settlements surrounding Gaza and Jerusalem. Sirens sound in Jerusalem. Israeli carry counter airstrikes on Gaza, targeting two residential buildings in Al Shatea refugee camp in West Gaza. 26 Palestinians, including nine children, are killed, with more than 120 injured.  Occupation forces attack worshippers in Al Aqsa. Protestors gather in Nazareth, Hebron and Lod to express solidarity with Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. A young man is shot dead by occupation forces in Lod
