Why Are You Here?
Now, of course, not every horse is going to be the next Secretariat, in fact we may never see the likes of him ever again. However, that certainly doesn't mean people won't try.
Anyone in the horse industry knows that an owner can pour as much money as they’d like into their horse’s health and well-being. The typical view is that if there is something in the world aimed toward improving a horse’s health or giving that animal better quality of life, any responsible horse owner should take advantage of it! It could be anything from the latest and greatest digestive supplement to the newest most effective joint injection. If owners see it advertised in their copy of Cutting Horse Chatter with the stamp “100% satisfaction guaranteed!” they will pick up the phone and place their order. They will sleep well knowing they’ve spent their money doing what seems to be best for their horse. Pharmaceutical and supplement companies, in tandem with equine magazines, capitalize on this fact. Do these supplements live up to everything their advertisements make them out to be? That is a question that can be answered only by looking closely at the research and analyzing the results. This website takes a close look at some of the advertising methods used by equine pharmaceutical and supplement companies and it will argue that in many cases these companies simply do not do all they promise and in some cases may even do more harm than good.
