Bias in facial recognition software (coding exercise)

This coding exercise serves as an example of biases in facial recognition. Encourage the students to try different images and analyze the results. The exercise can also be used as an introduction to using Python libraries.
 

Duration: 45 -60 minutes
Outcomes: Each student will see how biases are encoded in facial recognition algorithms.
Materials: Google Colab or any other Jupyter Notebook platform. Photos with faces (students can use their own or download them from the internet)

Audience: students unfamiliar with coding and facial recognition
