Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Oso explores unique situations that Oso, our main character, encounters, as the reader encounters these situations, they are also prompted with questions, connected to the key words. With the questions, the listener is then prompted to answer a question regarding the key word, or regarding the situation, allowing the reader and listener to learn from Oso's experience, while also connecting to it.
My goal with this game is to create an interactive medium, allowing two players to play this together. My hope is that parents are able to read this to their children, while also having discussions throughout the story. The parent's intention is to read, ask questions and then listen to their child's response, where as the child's role is to listen, learn new key vocabulary from the story and provide a response to their parent. Altogether, my goal is to engage the players in relating to this character allowing them to reflect upon themselves, to pull from within and grow.
