Alexis' Documentary Game

Oso is a game geared toward encouraging children to develop the language that is helpful, and often times necessary in times of grief and trauma, or even just having simple conversations about memories and moments in our lives. Oso explores unique situations that Oso, our main character, encounters, as the reader encounters these situations, they are also prompted with questions, connected to the key words. With the questions, the listener is then prompted to answer a question regarding the key word, or regarding the situation, allowing the reader and listener to learn from Oso's experience, while also connecting to it.

My goal with this game is to create an interactive medium, allowing two players to play this together. My hope is that parents are able to read this to their children, while also having discussions throughout the story. The parent's intention is to read, ask questions and then listen to their child's response, where as the child's role is to listen, learn new key vocabulary from the story and provide a response to their parent. Altogether, my goal is to engage the players in relating to this character allowing them to reflect upon themselves, to pull from within and grow.
