Curating in the Continuous Present: A Rehearsal For Gertrude Stein's Objects Lie on a Table

An Objects Banquet, Perhaps

And we rehearse these ideas in a series of programs that explore the sociality of objects and relations; events that we are sure to have lots of fun with funny things:

On Saturday March 19, 2016 we hosted:

10 am – 11:30 am
Between Thing and Agent: A Vocabulary for Performing Objects
Roundtable featuring Sarah Blake (Humanities, York), Johanna Householder (Art, OCADU), Nic Sammond (Cinema Studies, U of T), Marlis Schweitzer (Theatre, York), and Mark Sussman (Theatre, Concordia). Moderated by Antje Budde (Digital Dramaturgy Lab, Toronto).

Noon-2:30 pm
An Objects Banquet
Performance meal featuring artists from Rehearsal for Objects Lie on a Table alongside other thinkers and puppeteers, each performing or presenting an object. Food and drink were served.

*  Part of Animate Entities: Objects in Performance, curated by Gabriel Levine and sponsored by the Jackman Humanities Institute with support from the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies; Department of Art; Department of Visual Studies (UTM); Graduate Architecture, Landscape and Design Students Union; and the Cinema Studies Institute, University of Toronto.
