Critical Cataloging: Examining LCSH as Text: A Visualization by Mia Tignor

SALVATION

HYMNS; PREACHING; RELIGIOUS EDUCATION,RESURRECTION; REVELATION; SAINTS; SALVATION

To avoid tiresome repetition, the more detailed comments already made regarding kindred forms like ANGELS, CHILDREN'S SERMONS, DEVOTIONAL LITERATURE, ESCHATOLOGY, GOD, and HEARSAY may also, with some modifications, be applied to these heads. In each case, the activity, doctrine, or category is not limited to Christianity, yet Christianity enjoys an unqualified priority.

Remedy: As appropriate, add glosses or adjectival inversions; e.g., HYMNS, CHRISTIAN; RESURRECTION (CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE). Multi-faith or comparative studies may be assigned the gloss (COMPARATIVE RELIGION).
