Nova Scotia

In 1713, the British acquired Nova Scotia, its 14th colony in North America, as part of the Treaty of Utrecht. In the 18th century, Nova Scotia, however, was populated primarily by original French settlers, and the colony remained loyal to the crown throughout the American Revolution.
