It carries the "bad" modifier because of how it differs from the authoritative text we're familiar with today. The Newberry recently commissioned Sam Feinstein, a Chicago-area bookbinder, to produce a custom binding for a 2015 artist's book version of the "Bad Quarto." In this video, Sam discusses the inspiration for his binding with Newberry curator Jill Gage.
