Then audience members had the opportunity to join in breakout conversations led by experts in a variety of topics: housing, policing, media, a young adult reading and discussion, a video booth where participants recorded their own families' migration stories, and more. The afternoon concluded with a poetry reading by acclaimed Chicago poet Eve L. Ewing from her new book of poems about the 1919 riots.
