Botanical Gardens Adventure

Classes

Education is key to engaging Botanical Garden members. Classes are offered for adults, professional development, home-school children, and scouts.  Between plant workshops, and gardening school the botanical garden strives to continue and expand the horticultural, botanical, and gardening skills of adults. Children can learn have an animal encounter, build a terrarium, or make a bat box. The Botanical Garden also offers monthly enrichment activities for children that are home-schooled. Each month the Garden works with curriculum professionals to help provide that natural science material that home school children need to learn. The Garden staff even engages scout groups to assist in earning a badge. The classes at focus around the natural world that the Botanical Garden focuses, however there are also classes that extend interest in similar venues.  T’ai Chi, a form of martial arts, can be taught in the garden. Nature painting, macrame plant hangers, and beekeeping are just some of the outstanding classes offered which extend the interaction with the public and provide an opportunity for nature lovers to engage with the Botanical Garden.
