The Breakup
"Where are you going, Eris?"
You're frazzled, hair standing up on end...more than usual.
"I....You...Uh....I just need to go take care of something....Not feeling well."
You dart out, making your way back to Loki's office. You hold your shaking hand up to the door, and knock.
Slowly, it opens.
"Hey..."
"Hey..."
Tears form in your eyes as you choke on your own words. "Why?"
"I told you why," he says, defeated. "I just need to focus on me."
"Is it something I did? Something I said? Something I was or wasn't? Please tell me the truth."
He motions for you to come inside, and closes the door.
"You did nothing wrong," he assures. "You did absolutely everything right. I'm just not ready for this with you. Besides, we were never together....You're the one that said you wanted to just be friends."
You hit the bargaining stage in the conversation. "I said that because I didn't want you to get hurt. I didn't want to get hurt. You knew what I've been through, being tossed aside by everyone since we landed on this godforsaken place...."
You look away from him, trying to hide your glassy eyes, but it's no use. "I trusted you," you tell him. "I...loved you."
