Of the Gods

Don't get your hopes up

A few days later, you're enjoying a chat with your friends. You send a message to Loki, who you haven't really spoken to since you last saw him.

It reads:

Hey, you haven't been acting yourself the last couple days. Are you ok?

Kali is in the middle of telling a story about an awkward first date.

"And then, he said, 'have you tried the Kama Sutra?' and I was like 'Tried? I invented half of those moves!'"

The girls cackle, but you're not really in the mood.

"Then I ripped the idiot's head off!"

They cackle louder.

You hear a buzz from your pocket and look down at your communication device.

The message is from Loki. It reads:

I think we should go back to just being friends. I've got too much on my plate right now, and I just have been putting all my energy into you. You're moving up, and I'm still in the same spot I was when I started. It's not your fault directly. I just need to move on.

You feel your heart sink to the floor, and are compelled to get up with a start.

The one thing they never tell you about in theology class...How to deal hen you're a literal goddess, and you still get rejected by the guy.
