Henry Wallace Campaign

Spitzer wasn't the only person on the Left that President Strand tangled with and labeled 'Communist'. In Portland, he got into a heated argument with former Vice President Henry Wallace and was escorted away by a policeman. Below are the letters sent to Strand that unanimously praise his actions, sent from a variety of people in the West. Their affirmation of Strand's actions against a former Vice-President provides a glimpse of how vehemently anti-Communist the West could be during Malamud's time there.
