Jackson would retire after the 1986 season and be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. Jackson would also have his number retired by both the Athletics #9 and Yankees #44. Jackson moved to business after baseball becoming an automobile dealer, product spokesman, and real estate developer. Jackson was an announcer for the California Angels briefly until he was hired as a special assistant in 1993 by the New York Yankees and is still currently in that position. Jackson would appear in a few movies, including "The Naked Gun: From The Files of Police Squad."
