American League - New York Yankees 1936-1942

This is a period of great success for the New York Yankees. By the end of the 1940 season, they accomplished:

  • four pennants in a row for the first time in American League history
  • four world Championships for the first time in baseball history
  • nine straight World Series victories
  • thirteen victories in the last fourteen World Series games played

They then went on to win the pennant and the World Series in 1941 and the pennant in 1942.
