Nadeen's Project Proposal

On my map, I hope to track the movement of syrian refugees today. I think it will be important to focus on their shift of movement from a few years ago, mainly being to Lebanon and Jordan, and watching how they are now shifting to other parts of the globe, such as Europe. For this project, I think mapping out this movement will help me understand this new identity for syrian refugees. Along with this, I think it'd be interesting to compare the political situation and economy of two different places that syrian refugees have settled, possibly Lebanon and Germany.

This wave of syrian refugees is important to what we have studied in class because in the future, it's likely that there will be more syrians living in exile who will need to create a new lifestyle and adapt to a new culture, like many of the scholars and characters that we have read about in class. Along with this, I am very interested in how these refugees are going to change the culture of specific places like Germany, where the lifestyle is so different from what they are used to. I hope to teach others how the syrian refugees have been shifting movement, and find reasoning as to why, and then in the end tie it all together to what the future could entail for the world because of this movement.
