Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Michael Espersen: Scalar Map
12016-05-09T13:28:39-07:00Michael Espersen65f3d2699ba0e5cb5464dd75045e545a718fe97181781plain2016-05-09T13:28:39-07:00Michael Espersen65f3d2699ba0e5cb5464dd75045e545a718fe971This map plots the positions of the Israeli army as it attacked Lydda on July 10th, 1948 from both the north and the south. It shows the center of Lydda, the final position of the victorious IDF, and a marker plotting the territory controlled by Jordan into which over 40,000 Palestinian Arabs sought refuge from the carnage. I posted it as a link for purposes of accessibility.
