Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Throughout the course one of the recurring ideas that I had during our discussions and looking into our readings was the idea that Posthumanism, while futuristic in some senses, echoes back to many pagan ideas and ethics that have occurred throughout human history, particularly with Braidotti's understanding of Zoe equality and ethics and as we examine how to revert back from a postcolonial understanding of the earth. This project is meant to explore some of the key similarities between Wicca paganism (which I will sometimes shorten to witches) and posthuman thought processes.
How does a post anthropocentric ideology interact with capitalism and how do the witches? How is intersectional feminism key to posthumanism and how can we see it practiced in paganism? How can a closer relationship with the earth through pagan rituals bring light to the relational ontology of becoming-earth/species that Braidotti focuses on in The Posthuman?
These are the questions that I invite you to explore with me as you make your way through the 'grimoire' of this project.
