P.O.U.M.

The P.O.U.M. was a dissident communist party formed in Spain in 1935 by Andreu Nin and Joaquin Maurin from the I.L.P. and other non-Stalinist communist organizations. The name of the party was the Workers Party of Marxist Unification. It was a union of communist party's in Spain who were unhappy with the official communist party of Spain, the P.S.U.C. They were an anti-Stalinist party and therefor ran afoul of the official communist party in Catalonia the P.S.U.C.
