Crossing the Code

Critical Code Studies takes as its principal methodology the analysis of digital objects and the culture in which they are created and circulated through entry point of the code.  To read the code of the Transborder Immigrant Tool is to engage in a speculative deployment, marking potential use-cases, imagining the potential for the software to bring a traveler to safety or discover them too far from water to help.

In the pages that follow, you can cross the desert through the java computer source code of the Transborder Immigrant Tool.  Climb over the object oriented landscape through functions assembled from the contributions of open source repositories.  Be careful not to get stranded when you encounter the brambles of the hardware limitations or poorly documented run-time environments.
