Michael Broukhim: Introduction

Michael Broukhim was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, to immigrant parents who fled Iran due to the Islamic Revolution. He was heavily influenced by both sides of his family as his father’s side believed in education and pursuing careers in law or medicine, while his mother’s side believed in entrepreneurship. Michael Broukhim graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 2007; he also served as Editorial Chair of the Harvard Crimson during his time there. Michael furthered his education at Stanford University Law School, earning his J.D. in 2013. Michael was co-founder and managing partner of Charlie, where he directed digital strategies for celebrities, politicians, Fortune 500 companies, startups, and nonprofits. Some of his clients included Samuel L. Jackson, Tumblr, Rudy Giuliani, Rachel Zoe, Pfizer Inc., and the Golden Globe Awards. Michael then co-founded FabFitFun, and serves as co-CEO along with Daniel Broukhim and Katie Ann Rosen. Headquartered in Los Angeles, FabFitFun is a women’s lifestyle subscription box company with over 200 employees that specializes in beauty, fashion, fitness, tech, wellness, and more. Subscribers are offered deals and promotions for numerous products and brands, and are given access to the brand magazine and community discussion board to connect with other users. They also offer seasonal deliveries of full-size lifestyle products such as cosmetics, jewelry, accessories, and skincare. In addition, Michael also now serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in film and business. In 2015, Michael was recognized as a finalist for the Steven J. Sample Teaching Award by USC. He is an active angel investor who focuses on working with Los Angeles-based companies during their earliest stages. A few notable early-stage investments include Artsy, Cargomatic, ChowNow, Homee, MeUndies, Reformation, Ring, Whisper, and Zoe Media Group.
