Los Angeles Toy District: Isaac Larian - Glimpse of Hope

Moving to America was difficult for Larian at first. As a teenager, he had trouble finding employment. He tried several coffee shops and 7-eleven stores, and eventually he found employment at Spiro’s. The owner of Spiro’s was Iranian and they immediately formed a strong connection. Isaac spent his day pursing a degree at California State University, Los Angeles and his evenings were spent at Spiro’s washing dishes. Over time, his skills and abilities improved and he was promoted to be a waiter. Working at Spiro’s helped him to support himself while he pursued a degree in civil engineering.
