30 Years After: Tabby Davoodi - Tabby in The Jewish Journal

Tabby has been featured in The Jewish Journal several times, discussing a variety of subjects. In a 2012 post, she passionately discussed gender inequality in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), which is a continuous struggle in the U.S as well. Tabby has become a strong advocate in women’s self-empowerment and helping women overcome discrimination. Tabby believes that now is the best time for women to step up and embrace the greater access of education, empowerment, and professionalism for women in America. Tabby emphasized that women have become a large empowerment force. She noted that women, especially in the Persian Jewish community in America, have become utterly blessed with the access of opportunities. Women must recognize that no job is off-limits. It is important to educate and encourage young women to speak up and let their voices be heard while embracing their freedom to “live up to their fullest academic and professional potential.” Women must be aware of the choices they have and take responsibility to act upon these choices. Tabby further expressed that women should know the history of struggles women went through to be where they are today. By learning from mistakes and taking advantage of the numerous opportunities available, women will not follow the footsteps of previous generations.
