30 Years After: History

In 2007, a nonprofit organization known as 30 Years After was established. This nonprofit organization was founded in Los Angeles by a group of young Iranian-American Jews. The mission of 30 Years After is to promote participation and leadership of Iranian-American Jews in American political, civic, and Jewish life. Founders of this organization believe that individuals within the Iranian-American Jewish community need to embrace their responsibilities as Americans and as Jews. 30 Years After has worked hard in becoming the leading organization to educate, engage, and empower Iranian-American Jews in political affairs.

The name of 30 Years After was chosen to symbolize that thirty years had passed since the Islamic Revolution drove over 30,000 Iranian Jews out of their country. Through three decades of immigration to the United States, Iranian Jews have become one of the nation’s most prosperous and educated groups. The progress, success, and achievement of the Iranian Jews became an influential factor in the establishment of 30 Years After. The main goal of the organization became to inspire the Iranian Jewish community in Los Angeles in civic action and enhance the community's involvement in political activities.
