- Today, we are holding class at the David Kirk Digital Scholarship Commons' VizLab (located on the ground floor of McHenry Library)
- Discussion on Read/Watch/Play/Explore materials due today
- Time to explore/play/discuss projects from the DSC collection
- Design brainstorm exercise (as time allows)
- Games, Design and Play: A Detailed Approach to Iterative Game Design, Part III (Chapters 9-13)
- "It's Ridiculous to Use Virtual Reality to Empathize With Refugees," by Paul Bloom
- Visit the Digital Scholarship Common's VizLab prior to today's class and experience the following two projects. Please note that you must schedule an appointment in order use the VizLab.
- Project Syria (2014), by Nonny de la Peña/Emblematic Group
- Zero Days VR (2017), by Scatter
- A ten-minute presentation of your Interactive Non-Fiction Storytelling work-in-progress; note that this presentation can certainly include material you showed last week, but it also needs to be considerably expanded and further worked on. *Please plan on showing your presentation while at the library using your laptop.
- Alicia and Aria: by end-of-day today (midnight), please make sure to include in the schedule the Read/Watch/Play/Explore materials you will like us to review for next week's class. Note that you are not expected or required to lead the discussion together; you each will present your own materials and topics for approximately 45-60 minutes. However, you do need to coordinate in order to ensure that the quantity of materials you are assigning is balanced and appropriate.
