Being Wronged

Navigating Like the Detective

By formatting a broken screen layout for "Missing," the audience can act as the detective and simulate the findings of the several spots the missing girl had wandered off to. Because of the interactive aspect of the story, the audience does not merely watch the detective do all the work, but instead, the reader is given the opportunity to search his or herself.
The audience is allowed to navigate through the broken puzzle pieces as arrows appear on the screen to help guide the reader toward the right location, finding the different places that the girl had been. By giving the audience the ability to manually navigate through their environment and take on an active role in the story, the narrative becomes more personal, connecting the story to the reader.
