Our website provides accessible information for students who are interested in furthering their musical studies. Students and their parents will have access to information that is often hidden from students outside of many studios and conservatories where opportunities are provided by “word of mouth”, such as festivals, scholarships, and competitions. These opportunities are often difficult to find for students who don’t have access to these traditional spaces, so this website will provide information to break barriers (such as income bracket and geographic location) that normally block students from these resources. We will ask students and teachers what festivals or competitions they have done in the past and include them in our website. We will also provide information on local resources such as free concerts or free music programs. We hope that this website will be shared among students, teachers, parents, and music programs and schools. By having these resources easily accessible we hope that more students will be able to take advantage of these opportunities, get a head start on their musical education, and be able to continually access their musical studies through these resources.
Jaci Rasmussen is from Twin Falls, Idaho, and is currently based in Los Angeles as a senior piano performance major at the USC Thornton School of Music. She is passionate about bringing classical music in all shapes and forms to every audience and student. Jaci enjoys dancing, traveling and can make some mean latté are from her days as a barista.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Belle Wang is currently a senior violin performance and applied mathematics double major at USC. After working with underserved communities throughout her career, she hopes to provide equal access to resources and opportunities in the arts. Outside of school and work, she loves gaining new experiences and meeting a wide variety of different people through traveling.
Ingrid Hernandez is a Los Angeles native studying bassoon performance at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, with a minor in music industry. Her passion for music has encouraged her to volunteer and be involved in community music programs with administration and teaching bassoon. On my free time, I enjoy baking and trying new recipes!
Jeremy Davis is 21 years old and lives in Los Angeles where he is a senior at USC studying for his B.M. in Percussion Performance.
