You’ll hear that Go-Go Blasting People Dancing from the clubs to the trains Fireworks in the Air from Sun up to Sun down You can’t tell the difference between Gunshots and fireworks it’s Crazy !
Where I come from
Least to say it’s still lit We eat our fried chicken with mambo sauce On every bit of it You’ll hear don’t forget to add the jumbo mixed tea!
Where I come from
You’ll hear chocolate city But it has been invaded with whiteness Walk down a block one side is rich The other side is Poor We’re still trying to Recover From the drug war!
Ahhh, the nations capital. Full of opportunities and as well as culture.
Every day when I wake up, I wake up to the smell of nice warm mambo sauce, reminding me of what I should eat for lunch. The sirens of police cars reminding me of all the chaos going on in our city. I love tasting pizza fo Italian kitchen on U street, oooii! Seeing crazy people at anacostia just makes me feel proud of the diversity within our city: internally and as well as racially. You guys should come visit sometime. But let’s get real now: when I was little, life was simple.Got up in the mornings to the sweet smell of mambo sauce, went to school, stayed in aftercare, and come back home. Everything was fine. I knew my city only got attention for being the nation’s capital, but that was alright; we already had our own culture. The process of howDC was built was maddening, but I’m not gonna get into that right now. Then came overpopulation. The inner-city was crowded and very overwhelming. Instead of worrying about what I would have mambo sauce with, I was now realizing how many people were inhabited in this city and even in this whole entire planet! For some reason, I just felt so worrisome with all these people, people walking down the streets, streets such as U street, 16th street and G and 7th street/s downtown where the wizards play. Overpopulation is a problem: a big problem. Let’s identify what can be done in order for the U.S. population/Global population to be more spread out, not forming genuine claustrophobia within my city, and as well as the whole entire U.S.: spread out. Thank you may you have a blessed day.
